UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Systems Database Administrator V to join Infrastructure and Communication Technologies (ICT), Database Platforms, a unit within UFIT. UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator. Infrastructure and Communication Technology (ICT) is a division of UF Information Technology that manages the UF Data Center and delivers hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, and related systems, in addition to connecting the University of Florida campuses to the world via high-speed data, video, Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and VoIP services. The Database Platform team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and administration of UFIT’s core database infrastructure. They design, build, and maintain critical database services, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle and more.

The Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida (UF) seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-accruing Assistant Curator of Environmental Archaeology. This position will be filled at the Assistant faculty level in the Florida Museum’s Department of Natural History. For over 40 years, the faculty and staff of the Environmental Archaeology Program (FM-EAP) at the Florida Museum of Natural History have played a foundational role in the development of zooarchaeology, with secondary emphases in archaeobotany and archaeopedology. We curate archaeological animal, plant, and soil assemblages from across the Americas, including the southeastern United States, insular Caribbean, Mesoamerica, and South America. Several of the collections from sites are co-curated and managed across other archaeological museum collections (e.g., Florida Archaeology, Historical Archaeology, Caribbean Archaeology). The collections represent more than 1.7 million specimens from over 800 sites, including the largest zooarchaeological comparative collection in the southeastern USA.

The annual budget is over $200 million. The department operates through 12 subspecialty divisions, each with its own division chief, faculty and staff. The associate director directly oversees clinical operations, ancillary clinical support functions, faculty affairs, and the Chair’s Office operations. This position works closely with the department’s director of health administration, director of finance (working title), department chair, vice chairs, division chiefs, faculty, and division administrators in identifying and analyzing operational problems, collecting recommendations, implementing solutions, and approving policies and procedures that ensure the department operates at the highest efficiency. The Department of Medicine has 12 clinic locations throughout Gainesville and in outlying areas, which will require regular onsite engagement by the assistant director. This position also interfaces regularly with UF Health clinical leadership and will be engaged in strategic planning, expansion projects, and implementation of new clinical initiatives. This position is expected to be proficient in data analytics, revenue cycle, EPIC, University of Florida business operations systems, and leading teams.
