The University of Florida Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Chief of Pediatric Rheumatology. This faculty position is available on either the tenure or non-tenure track at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The Division Chief will provide leadership and oversight for the continued growth and development of the Pediatric Rheumatology program. Responsibilities include delivering inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teaching and mentoring pediatric fellows, residents, and medical students; conducting scholarly and research activities; and leading the division’s expanding research portfolio, which includes investigator-initiated studies, registry-based research, and industry-sponsored clinical investigations.

We are seeking promising or accomplished scientists with expertise in clinical and translational research, with areas of interest including precision medicine, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that are consistent with appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program. All faculty in the department contribute to our professional and graduate education programs. The position may be based in the Gainesville or Lake Nona Campus. Faculty hires will also participate in the professional and graduate instructional efforts of the College.
