The Student Counseling Spec II (Working Title: Clinical Case Manager) at the University of Florida Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) and Student Health Care Center (SHCC) serves as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, delivering brief, population-focused, primary care–oriented behavioral health services with an emphasis on clinical case management across the full continuum of student need. Primary responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations and clinical assessments, determining level of care, developing treatment plans and setting goals, coordinating and facilitating referrals, connecting students to appropriate on- and off-campus resources, collaborating with internal and external providers, offering crisis consultation, and supporting continuity of care. The clinician substantiates services through timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC), Student Health Care Center (SHCC), and University of Florida policies and procedures, ensuring coordinated, high-quality care across campus and within the community.

We are seeking a candidate with clinical experience in all aspects of care for urinary stone disease, including ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, laparoscopic and robotic surgery as it relates to urinary stone disease and upper urinary tract obstruction, as well as metabolic evaluation and preventive care for patients with urinary lithiasis. The candidate would join a department recognized for its clinical and research excellence in stone disease including multidisciplinary programs with nephrology, endocrinology and basic scientists. The candidate would also receive excellent mentorship under the tutelage of internationally recognized endourologists and minimally invasive surgeons (Vincent G. Bird, MD, Benjamin K. Canales, MD, Li-Ming Su, MD). Our stone research program has a rich history of investigative exploration in stone disease. Our current studies include basic science efforts in oxalate metabolism and cell culture, translational efforts in calcium metabolism and microbiome using animal models, molecular characterization of urinary stone formers, and clinical efforts with novel biomedical devices, a large metabolic and operative outcomes database, and prospective genetic trials.

(Approximately 6,250 individuals completed new employee or annual update training in 2020) Includes on-line educational modules that meet the requirements of the College Compliance Plan. Emphasis on regulations concerning documentation requirements for state and federal payors (includes Medicare and Florida Medicaid). Instructs both staff and physicians in coding requirements.
