| The Department of Neurological Surgery is charged with the responsibility for medical education, patient care, and research activities for the neurosurgical specialties at the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. This full-time position is responsible for the coordination of clinical and development functions of the State of Florida Brain Tumor Bank, and oversight of development, planning, and execution of programs critical to the clinical, research, and education missions of the Wells Brain Tumor Center and general UFBTIP Administration.
The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs. |

The Assistant Director for Programs in Community and Belonging serves students, student organizations, campus colleagues and partners, and ultimately the Division of Student Life. Duties of this position include advising and supporting initiatives for the student organization program at the University of Florida as well as leading and coordinating a variety of campus programs that support the mission of the department and Division of Student Life; Supervising professional and paraprofessional staff; and other administrative duties. This position reports to the Director for Community and Belonging. |
