The UF Small Animal Hospital Multi-Service Technician (with Small Animal Reproduction focus) enhances the health of their patients through their work with others such as veterinarians (including faculty, residents, interns), other technicians, assistants, and veterinary students. They provide patient care by assisting with exams and specialty procedures, coordinating the schedule (including with other specialty services), and providing clinical instruction and demonstration to veterinary students and others. They also provide client service and administrative support, which includes, but is not limited to assisting and facilitating client service related matters and maintaining a clean, sanitary, and functionally well-organized service. This is a full-time position although a part-time position may be considered.

The University of Florida’s Veterinary Community Outreach Program (VCOP) is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with a primary focus on administrative and client service support. This position serves as a key point of contact for the shelters and rescue groups and plays an essential role in day-to-day clinic operations through effective communication, coordination, scheduling, and customer service. In addition to client-facing and administrative responsibilities, the role includes limited assistant duties to support clinical operations as needed. VCOP is designed to expose students to the realities of veterinary practice in both community and shelter medicine settings, while supporting high-volume spay/neuter services and preventive care for canine and feline patients.

This remote position service in support of research faculty in the department of Medicine, one of the largest departments in the University of Florida’s College of Medicine with over 1,000 employees. This position will oversee research administration related to tasks for assigned division/PI(s)s. These tasks include but are not limited appointments, distributions, pre-award grant proposal processing, post-award administration, and financial budgeting transactions. The incumbent must be a highly organized and motivated individual with a capacity for hard work, able to work within a team and have strong customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of prior experience with pre and post award grants management and a working knowledge of clinical trial compliance processes.
