UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Engineer I to join the Information Security Office’s (ISO) Cybersecurity Detection and Response (CDR) team, a unit within UFIT. UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator. The position will contribute to the University of Florida’s information security program in providing service request support, specifically in the processing of eDiscovery, litigation support, and computer investigations as well as contributing to the university's information security program in the areas of threat management, vulnerability management, and incident management.

The Makino Laboratory seeks a part-time Laboratory Technician I (20 hours per week) at the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, Florida. Our area of research focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of vascular complications in Diabetes, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Menopause, particularly in cell-cell communication, mitochondrial function, cell apoptosis/senescence, and calcium handling in the endoplasmic reticulum of endothelial and smooth muscle cells. The candidate will work in a fast-paced laboratory on various projects pertaining to basic and translational research focused on heart and lung vascular pathobiology, electrophysiology, and the pathogenic mechanisms of vascular and inflammatory diseases. The incumbent must have skills to handle small animals and conduct basic molecular biological experiments. The Wertheim UF Scripps Institute advances human health through biomedical research, drug discovery, and clinical studies while providing outstanding educational opportunities to inspire and train the next generation of scientists. Research Software Engineer I/II/III 19340000 - EG-BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
This position will support the AI-Powered Athletics project, which is a collaborative effort between the University of Florida (UF) and the University Athletics Association (UAA). A cornerstone of the project is an on-prem database that utilizes HiPerGator, UF’s AI supercomputer. The database integrates structured and unstructured data from UF student-athletes on health, nutrition, academic performance, and sports performance, including wearable sensors at practices and games. The role is to build and maintain the database, including monitoring data ingestion, managing data pipelines, integrating new technologies and data types, managing role-based access control, ensuring industry standard documentation practices, and implementing best practices to ensure stability, security, and sustainability. Additionally, this role offers opportunities to collaborate on front end development, such as creating dashboards and user interfaces for coaching staff and researchers to access, visualize, and interpret the data. Ability to interact with faculty and staff from Engineering, Research Computing, UF IT, Athletics, and other areas is essential. This dynamic position will be integrated into the AI-Powered Athletics team, which is led by Dr. Jennifer Nichols (Biomedical Engineering) and Spencer Thomas (University Athletics Association). Our mission is to contribute to the research, education, and athletic communities at UF with innovation in athletic performance, AI, and technology.
