This position provides technical and engineering support to the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity (FICS) Research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. The main responsibilities are to manage and maintain a variety of complex laboratory equipment such as microscopes and prepare periodic reports in line with the FICS Research objectives and goals. Other responsibilities include supervising one Engineer position, training FICS Research students, postdoctoral associates and other FICS Research members how to use lab equipment. The incumbent is also responsible for specifying and helping with the ordering parts, consulting and assisting FICS Research faculty and other group members. |

The Director of External Affairs will play a pivotal role in advancing the University of Florida’s presence in Jacksonville by leading strategic communications, donor engagement, and external relations efforts at the UF Jacksonville campus. This position will oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy to engage key stakeholders—including donors, elected officials, and community leaders—while ensuring message consistency in collaboration with university-wide communicators. The director will also serve as a critical development liaison, supporting fundraising initiatives and donor stewardship in partnership with UF Advancement and college units. This role will also work in partnership with the Office of Government and Community Relations (GCR) to represent UF in the region by coordinating with state and local partners to elevate the UF Jacksonville campus’ visibility and strategic priorities. This position reports directly to the Vice President in the Office for Strategic Initiatives and will serve as a public-facing representative when needed. |
