The Biological Scientist IV will independently lead a project on the development of cellular immunotherapy against DIPG in pre-clinical models. This includes design and execution of experiments as well as data analysis. Additionally, they will be responsible for general laboratory management duties, monitoring and caring for laboratory animals within the Preston A. Wells Jr Center for Brain Tumor Therapy within the Department of Neurosurgery. The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs.

JOB SUMMARY As a member of the Enterprise Support Unit within the Library Technology Services department, this position is responsible for assisting in maintaining the library's technology footprint, including, but not limited to, desktop devices, software, conference room technology, and mobile device management. This position is a main point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. This position requires a strong customer service background, excellent technology troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to work as part of a team of IT professionals. Library Technology Services serves as the focal point for planning, managing, and coordinating technology-based Information Resources that support Library operations. Library Technology Services manages 43 servers that support approximately 450 workstations and 150 mobile devices used by 225 faculty and staff and over 3 million annual patrons across ten buildings.

The H2OSAV program is seeking an OPS Research Technician to support ongoing research related to residential water use. Research Technician will support research efforts through statistical analysis and data analysis for peer-reviewed manuscripts and technical reports. The ideal candidate will have strong interests in applied research, quantitative analysis, and environmental or water-related topics. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to contribute to collaborative research projects. Prior research experience is preferred. OPS - Community Scientist 16010600 - LS-HEALTH DISPARITIES Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
Community Scientists support the recruitment of community members to serve as participants in health disparities and cancer-related research studies conducted or supported by the Community-Partnered Cancer Disparities Research Collaborative, with the UF Health Cancer Institute. The ideal candidate is outgoing, articulate, creative, and comfortable initiating conversations with individuals they may not know. This role requires explaining research studies, answering questions, and helping eligible community members understand the benefits of participating in research. Community Scientists collect data from research participants, including height and weight, and are trained to obtain informed consent from participants. Candidates will complete IRB certification training, in addition to other job training. It would be useful for candidates to have connections within the Gainesville community, such as connections with local churches and community organizations. Although some meetings are virtual, Community Scientists should be able to attend in-person meetings, training sessions, and community events as needed.
