| This is a full-time (40 hours per week) laboratory technician position working at the UF/IFAS Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory (https://fmel.ifas.ufl.edu). In Dr. Buckner’s lab, activities will include assisting with laboratory management, maintaining mosquito colonies in the insectary, performing mosquito insecticide resistance testing, supervising junior laboratory personnel, and assisting with purchases. Additionally, the selected candidate will perform all assigned tasks for any other research or Extension projects taking place in the Buckner lab, which may include semi-field or field experiments.
In Dr. Lee’s lab, activities will include laboratory management, supervising junior laboratory personnel, conducting sample inventory management, DNA extraction, genomic DNA library preparation for whole genome sequencing, mosquito collection, mosquito pinning, and assisting with purchases needed for research and Extension activities.
This position may require availability for weekend and evening work upon occasion. The incumbent will need to satisfy UF and IACUC requirements for inclusion in research projects |
