The Molluscan Shellfish Aquaculture and Restoration Laboratory at School of Forest, Fisheries and Geomatic Sciences is currently recruiting a motivated Laboratory research biologist to work in and gain additional hands-on experience in aquaculture and laboratory settings. Current research work in the lab involves hard clam and oyster aquaculture, microalgae production, spawning, breeding, genetics, use of flow cytometer, immunology, and germplasm cryopreservation.  Employees will get a chance to learn additional laboratory techniques and will work with graduate students and biologists. Applicant should have BS or MS degree with some prior laboratory or aquaculture experience, be driven, have good working ethics, be able to lift 35Lbs+ and are required to follow laboratory protocols. This position’s pay will vary depending on working experience, full time at 40 hr/week, and available immediately. The Molluscan Shellfish aquaculture and Restoration Laboratory is located at UF’s Millhopper facility in Gainesville, FL.
