| The School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences (SFFGS) is recruiting for a Florida LAKEWATCH Water Quality Monitoring Assistant. Florida LAKEWATCH is a citizen science volunteer lake monitoring program that facilitates "hands-on" participatory science in the management of Florida lakes, estuaries, rivers and springs through monthly monitoring activities.
This is a full-time, hands-on position supporting field operations, sample collection logistics, and volunteer monitoring efforts. The role is well-suited for someone who enjoys a mix of independent work, teamwork, and can take initiative after training.
The assistant will primarily coordinate and complete sample pickups, prepare field kits and supplies, and help maintain equipment used by volunteers across the state.
This position requires a valid Florida Driver’s License, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a willingness to work outdoors and occasionally outside standard business hours.
