This position requires a highly motivated, service-focused, self-starting professional to support scientists who are working diligently to discover solutions to some of the most vexing problems in Florida and the world. As a Research Administrator in The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), you are expected to provide comprehensive research administration to a portfolio of faculty/principal investigators (PIs) in various units to ensure the overall effective coordination of research administration services, systems, policies, processes, and compliance. Position will provide lifecycle pre- & post-award research administration ensuring the fulfillment of all grants and/or contract & compliance requirements. Major duties include proposal development, review and submission and Submission and management of other research related agreements, award management including effort, expenditures, modifications, and closeouts, in addition to regularly communicating with the projects’ stakeholders. The position reports to the Assistant Director of IFAS Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA). The Research Administrator III is a upper-level position with an in-depth understanding of the professional field; can independently perform full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions; functions with a high degree of autonomy and limited supervision; coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals; problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. The division provides inpatient services at Shand’s Children’s Hospital, ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report. Our pediatric nephrology program provides services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with all forms of acute and chronic congenital and acquired kidney diseases. Our team offers expertise in the care of young children with renal failure and patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation. These include infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems, patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities, and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tri-state area call for consultations, as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems. Additionally, UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests. The division chief will be responsible for cultivating an environment that advances the strong clinical, research, and educational missions of UF Health.

Successful candidates will work on spin transitions and magnetoelectric couplings in molecular magnetic systems, dynamics, and decoherence of spin and clock transition, spin-spin couplings, spin-environment interactions in junctions, simulation of inelastic tunneling spectroscopy (IETS) etc. Experience in DFT and beyond DFT methods, high-level quantum chemistry, machine learning, high-throughput modeling of complex materials, model Hamiltonian-based spin dynamics, or in IETS is a plus. This is a time-limited position.
