The Director of Human Resources (HR) for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) serves as the college’s chief HR officer and principal advisor to the Dean, Associate Deans, and department chairs/center directors on all HR matters. CLAS is the university’s largest and most diverse college, with a broad mix of faculty, TEAMS employees, postdoctoral associates, graduate assistants, adjuncts, and student employees across multiple academic and administrative units. The Director provides strategic leadership, policy interpretation, and operational oversight for all HR functions in CLAS, including recruitment and onboarding, faculty and academic personnel actions, classification and compensation, employee/labor relations in partnership with UF Human Resources (UFHR), performance management, compliance, and HR data/reporting. The position serves as the primary CLAS liaison to core administrative units to ensure alignment with university policy and timely implementation of university-wide HR initiatives.

The incumbent will assume leadership of a state-wide extension program to increase the knowledge and skills of extension agents and industry representatives (e.g., producers, packinghouses, etc.) in the area of tropical and subtropical fruit production. The primary responsibility will be developing an educational program in production of tropical fruit crops grown commercially in the state.
