The University of Florida (UF) is embarking on a campus-wide strategic initiative to hire clusters of faculty members with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), broadly defined. As part of this initiative, the Department of Neurosurgery is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position focusing on AI applications in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and/or health outcomes. Additionally, applications for neurosurgical diseases, i.e. cerebrovascular disease, primary and metastatic tumors treated by stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), etc. where data science, machine learning, and AI applications may improve diagnosis, treatment, and/or disease prevention are of interest. The Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive clinical services for the diagnosis, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients suffering from diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, epilepsy, functional disorders, and spinal disorders and injuries. Our clinical care mission also extends throughout North Central Florida through regional neurosurgery programs. We offer the full spectrum of neurosurgical and neuro-oncology treatment options for both adults and pediatric patients. Our research labs and investigator-led initiatives and clinical trials are developing promising new treatments for neurological diseases that are extremely difficult to treat with conventional therapies. The Department of Neurosurgery offers education and training programs such as ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency programs and fellowship programs.

The University of Florida, Division of Pediatric Nephrology is seeking a faculty member to join an active and collegial group to serve as Division Chief. The division provides inpatient services at Shand’s Children’s Hospital, ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report. Our pediatric nephrology program provides services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with all forms of acute and chronic congenital and acquired kidney diseases. Our team offers expertise in the care of young children with renal failure and patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation. These include infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems, patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities, and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tri-state area call for consultations, as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems. Additionally, UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests. The division chief will be responsible for cultivating an environment that advances the strong clinical, research, and educational missions of UF Health.
