Assistant Director, Business Services Operations Malibu Campus
The Assistant Director of Business Services Operations supports the strategic operations and administration of the University’s Business Services department and provides cross-functional operational support to the Office of the Chief Operating Officer area. Bringing excellence to all aspects of work and providing exceptional service, this position works directly with multiple areas within the Business Services department, including Dining Services, Campus Bookstores, Vending, Bookstore, Licensing and the Villa Graziadio Executive Center. Serving as a primary representative of the Business Services department, the Assistant Director of Business Services Operations employs professional and timely communication, initiative, hospitality, organization, and efficiency, and is overall responsible for the timely administration of routine processes. This position ensures seamless operations and a professional environment, conducive to excellent service and high achievement. As a member of the Chief Operating Officer’s central operational team, this role supports the entire division and helps meet departmental goals and priorities, through collaboration, initiative and follow-through.This position works directly with colleagues and vendors to communicate priorities, coordinate operations, write communications and reports, collaborate and complete projects, host events, and otherwise assist as needed. The Employee Engagement Specialist serves as a communications and event planning expert for Human Resources, supporting the planning and execution of learning, wellness, and major community engagement initiatives for Pepperdine University’s staff and faculty. This position ensures that digital experiences are intuitive, accessible, and user-centered, advancing the University’s mission by helping prospective students, current students, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders easily find and engage with University information and services. They will utilize skills in content strategy, user experience, design, and web development to improve clarity, usability, consistency, and the overall digital experience through user-centered design and execution on our websites. The Web and UX Specialist also collaborates with the University’s SEO and AI Search initiatives to ensure Pepperdine’s websites are optimized for both human users and AI-powered search experiences. This position supports our mission by standardizing digital experiences that promote the “brand” to our audiences and drives some of our essential recruitment and affinity web presences.
