Responsibilities

Based in Singapore, you will help Singapore companies build and/or enhance their presence in the China market, navigate through regulatory frameworks & business norms, and help them establish strategic contacts with Chinese counterparts. You should have a keen interest in government affairs, international relations, public policy and business development and analysis, as the job entails identifying regulatory roadblocks, in-market practices, key growth industries and to propose innovative strategies to help Singapore companies enter the market and/or grow their presence in China.

In addition, you are expected to review existing engagement strategies and develop new strategies to increase the market access of Singapore companies in China, this includes regular environmental scans and close monitoring of the political and economic landscapes in China, develop good understanding of Singapore companies’ operations in China, and analyse the opportunities and challenges that Singapore companies has face or will face in China, and propose relevant and useful insights and action plans to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in public sector, politico-economic relations, government affairs and/or public policy
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to discern policy implications and market/business opportunities
  • Effective team player with good communication, analytical and inter-personal skills
  • Chinese language proficiency
  • Keen sense of observation and business opportunity instincts
  • Independent, mature and steady to handle challenging situations and/or projects
  • Candidates without the required qualification but with relevant experience are welcome to apply
