The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality. Prudent land use planning has enabled Singapore to enjoy strong economic growth and social cohesion, and ensures that sufficient land is safeguarded to support continued economic progress and future development.

You will be a member of a special Project Team (CORENET X) that is charged with driving transformation of regulatory processes in the Built Environment sector. This team of high-performing officers will be working closely with other Government agencies, as well as selected industry partners to drive the development of new digital tools and optimised workflows that foster greater collaboration and automation.

The team will also coordinate business process reviews to streamline the property development workflows across the design, regulatory approvals, construction stages through to building commissioning.

The work will also involve formulating change management strategies and implement training programmes to ensure officers have the necessary proficiencies to effectively employ new technologies – particularly in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Geographic Information System (GIS) and analytics.

 

Requirements

  • A degree or postgraduate diploma in urban and regional planning, architecture, civil engineering, transport planning, environmental studies, building, real estate or geography. In the alternative, candidates without a degree should possess at least 5 years of experience in the built environment sector
  • Preferably candidates who have 2-3 years of work experience and knowledge of how the real estate and construction industry operates in Singapore’s context
  • Keen interest in the development and application of technology
  • Candidates who can demonstrate strong project management skills (particularly Agile) will have an advantage
  • Capable of working independently and in a team, and possess a can-do attitude
  • Possess basic working knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
