Job Summary:

- To develop, co-create and lead responsive, relevant and effective programmes to meet the needs of persons with disabilities and that of their caregivers.

 

Job Responsibilities:

1. People Management

- Provide direction of growth for the team

- Motivate, coach and build the capability of the team to achieve the following areas.

2. Strengthen the ecosystem of the disability community

- Oversee the review and identification of gaps in service landscape in the disability sector.

- Strengthen partnerships with Government agencies, social service agencies and other relevant bodies to improve policies and address the interests of services users where appropriate.

- Lead in the formulation of overall strategic directions for services in the disability sector.

- Provide service consultancy to social service agencies on planning and development of services where necessary.

3. Co-create solutions with stakeholders

- Oversee initiatives to conceptualise, design and implement initiatives to address service gaps of the disability community to improve the Quality of Life of persons with disabilities and their caregivers.

4. Build Shared Knowledge

- Promote and develop close relations with social service agencies and other relevant stakeholders through networks, visits and other appropriate means in order to build and share knowledge, such as service landscape.

- Communicate on the importance of outcomes/impact measurement to influence the mindset and behaviour of social service agencies, funders and internal stakeholders.

5. Oversee performance of funded programmes

- Provide technical assistance to social service agencies in relation to service development and improvements.

- Conduct regular review of social service programmes with relevant stakeholders for service planning and funding decisions.

6. Lead in changing attitude and behaviour of the community towards a more inclusive society

- Lead in the engagement of partners and stakeholders to effect desired change in attitude and behaviour of the community.

 

Job Requirements:

- Tertiary education in Social Work/ Social Sciences, Public Policy, Sociology/ Psychology or in any other related disciplines.

- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in social service, preferably with experience at the management level.
