The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality. Prudent land use planning has enabled Singapore to enjoy strong economic growth and social cohesion, and ensures that sufficient land is safeguarded to support continued economic progress and future development.

Your role as an Investment Manager is to assist in the management of the Authority’s Surplus Fund. You will have the opportunity to develop your competencies through your involvement in a variety of work including:

  • Managing cash liquidity to meet short and long term funding needs
  • Assisting in the strategic asset allocation review for the investment of the Surplus Fund
  • Liaising with investment consultants and fund managers
  • Preparing procurement documents, conducting fund manager search and recommending suitable fund manager
  • Conducting due diligence and on boarding of fund managers
  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the performance of funds under management to ensure that the fund managers comply with their contractual, compliance, fiduciary and investment responsibilities
  • Keeping updated with market trends and developments to research on and propose investment ideas to enhance the risk adjusted return of the funds
  • Dealing with operational matters such as reconciliation of valuation reports, tax filings, proxy voting, certification and payment of fees

 

Requirements

  • A degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics or equivalent. In the alternative, candidates without a degree should possess at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Preferably a CFA Charter holder or currently doing a CFA program
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to write well and present with confidence to senior level executives
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous and proactive
  • A team player, ability to work independently and within a team environment to meet deadlines
