Workforce Singapore (WSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). It will oversee the transformation of the local workforce and industry to meet ongoing economic challenges.

WSG will promote the development, competitiveness, inclusiveness, and employability of all levels of the workforce. This will ensure that all sectors of the economy are supported by a strong, inclusive Singaporean core.

While its key focus is to help workers meet their career aspirations and secure quality jobs at different stages of life, WSG will also address the needs of business owners and companies by providing support to enable manpower-lean enterprises to remain competitive. It will help businesses in different economic sectors create quality jobs, develop a manpower pipeline to support industry growth, and match the right people to the right jobs

In this role, you will support Workforce Singapore (WSG) in developing and executing public engagement activities. You will need to conceptualise, plan, and execute engagement activities to drive publicity and awareness of SGUnited Jobs and Skills and other WSG's programmes.

You will lead discussions with both external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of WSG's key messages across all engagement platforms and will increase public awareness of WSG and its programmes through sustained outreach activities. You will additionally need to work and manage partners and vendors to achieve the successful organisation and public engagement activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement WSG's communications strategy and initiatives
    • Plan, develop and implement strategic public engagement plan
    • Engage and manage engagement partner to achieve WSG's objectives
    • Explore new ideas and develop new processes to improve public engagement processes
  • Manage public engagement activities for WSG
    • Identify and develop public engagement opportunities to enhance WSG's brands and programmes
    • Work with partners and vendors to successfully execute engagement activities
    • Engage with members of the public to address queries and share information about WSG programmes

Requirements:

  • Experience in communications, events or other relevant disciplines
  • Candidates without experience but possesses a strong passion for communications are welcome to apply

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding and familiarity of Singapore's employment landscape and how to engage Singaporeans effectively
  • Good grasp of event ideas and what makes an event interesting
  • Familiarity with the modalities and operations of public engagement activities

Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good project management skills to manage and execute projects
  • Good command of a Mother Tongue language

Abilities

  • Ability to think out of the box for different ways to engage the public and deliver key messages
  • Resourceful and willing to learn
  • Meticulous with attention to details
