You will be responsible for regulating development and building works in the railway/road structure protection zone as well as railway corridor to safeguard the rapid transit systems, road structure safety zone and public streets. You will be involved in reviewing the design of both temporary and permanent works affecting the rapid transit systems, road structures and public street, engineering risk assessment and analysis focusing on the safety and protection of public transport users and infrastructure, method of construction and implementation, installation as well as review of geotechnical and structure monitoring instrumentation data, etc.  In addition, you would be involved in complex building, civil and infrastructure projects including projects where stations are integrated with adjoining and adjacent developments. 

You will have to lead a team of engineers and provide guidance, advice on design, construction, instrumentation monitoring/analysis, all in relation to the abovementioned rails/roads structures protection and regulatory works.

Besides the opportunity to work with developers, their architectural and engineering consultants and contractors, you will also co-ordinate and liaise with LTA architects, planners and engineers on projects affecting rail and road. You will also have the opportunity to be involved with fellow colleagues in LTA and external consultants on fire safety, E&M building services and other rapid transit systems where there are integration of the rapid transit station with neighbouring development.


Tertiary in Civil/Structural Engineering.  
Experience in civil engineering design (tunnel and/or bridge) and supervision of construction works.  
Conversant in geotechnical engineering, finite element numerical analysis/modelling.  
Some basic knowledge of fire safety, E&M building services would be an advantage although not critical.  
Resourceful, analytical, able to thrive in a demanding work environment with good problem solving skill and think out of the box.  
Possess initiative and keen interest to develop professional skill set and keen to learn.  
Able to work independently, lead, counsel and guide team members.  
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, pro-active and resourceful. Self-motivated, able to multi-task.
