Workforce Singapore (WSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). It will oversee the transformation of the local workforce and industry to meet ongoing economic challenges.

WSG will promote the development, competitiveness, inclusiveness, and employability of all levels of the workforce. This will ensure that all sectors of the economy are supported by a strong, inclusive Singaporean core.

While its key focus is to help workers meet their career aspirations and secure quality jobs at different stages of life, WSG will also address the needs of business owners and companies by providing support to enable manpower-lean enterprises to remain competitive. It will help businesses in different economic sectors create quality jobs, develop a manpower pipeline to support industry growth, and match the right people to the right jobs

 

As a member of the Data Team, you will be responsible for the reporting and analysis of WSG-wide data and ensure alignment and coordination within WSG and MOM on our data reporting.  Your responsibilities may include:

  • Track, collate, extract and analyse datasets
  • Draw insights from data analysis to facilitate policy, system and programme review and enhancements
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on data findings and analysis
  • Assist in the implementation of data governance policy and security measures for WSG and promote the secure and responsible use of data.
  • Facilitate data sharing within WSG and with other organisations, including making more data publicly available and regularly review data classification.
  • Evaluate and track data sharing requests from external agencies.
  • Advise WSG divisions in the handling of data incidents in accordance with the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office guidelines, and resolve cross-agency data issues where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures as part of the overall ICT and data incident management plan, including the design and execution of training and exercise plans for data incident management personnel.
  • Review, assess and track data security and governance risks as part of overall enterprise risk management.

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of data and ICT security and governance policies
  • Possess understanding of public governance and its principles
  • Possess good communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau) and statistical software (e.g. SQL, R, STATA, SPSS) preferred but not necessary
