Senior Manager / Manager / Assistant Manager (Housing)

Agency: Ministry of Health
Job no.: 553316
Work type: Permanent/Contract
Location: Singapore
Categories:Healthcare, Policy Formulation

The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) vision is to champion a healthy nation with our people – to live well, live long and with peace of mind. As an open country constantly exposed to an interconnected world, Singapore faces complex issues in public healthcare. MOH constantly grapples with new challenges brought on by an increasingly globalised world, a rapidly ageing population and rising expectations. MOH’s responses to these challenges include preventing and managing the outbreak of diseases such as SARS and Influenza A (H1N1), designing a healthcare system that delivers care in an integrated and effective manner, growing the capacity and capabilities within the sector, and managing healthcare inflation.

As an MOH officer, you will be involved in formulating and implementing policies that guide Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem. You will work alongside a team with varied skills and backgrounds, but with the common goals of (i) promoting good health and reducing illnesses; (ii) ensuring that Singaporeans have access to good and affordable healthcare; and (iii) pursuing medical excellence. Your work will have far-reaching impact on the health and lives of Singaporeans.

You will be part of the team in the Ageing Planning Office to define, plan and execute whole-of-government and national strategies in response to the needs of Singapore’s ageing population and under the Action Plan for Successful Ageing, as developed by the Ministerial Committee on Ageing (MCA).

You will play an active role in collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders such as public agencies, community and industry partners in cross-agency policy reviews that seek to catalyse the development of new housing models which are twinned with care services, e.g. assisted living facilities.  You will also formulate and implement projects which aim to build age-friendly communities that enable seniors to age-in-place actively and gracefully.

  • Relevant qualifications and knowledge/experience in areas such as policy formulation, project management, and operationalising and implementing programmes.
  • Prior experience in urban and/or infrastructure planning would be an added advantage.
  • Passion for working with seniors and community partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment which requires critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Highly driven and can work independently and as a team.
