Assistant Manager/Manager (Sanitation Policy Section) – Contract

In the Sanitation and Industry Policy Department (SIPD), you will be part of the team that works to strengthen operational capabilities in the new areas of sanitation and hygiene to meet current and future challenges. This includes developing solutions for current challenges, exploring and leveraging new technologies, and developing strategic programmes and engaging relevant stakeholders. SIPD also ensures compliance with the cleaning industry licensing regime through audits, investigation, and enforcement.

In this role, you will assist your immediate supervisor to plan and implement an environmental sanitation regime. You may also be required to provide support to the team to staff committee(s) to formulate and develop the environmental sanitation regime and its related standards.

You will work in partnership with departments and other Government Agencies to plan and ensure effective and efficient implementation of the environmental sanitation regime. You will be responsible for the following:

• Assist in the development/review of an audit and enforcement framework for the environmental sanitation regime
• Review and assess system related requirements to establish internal audit/enforcement systems
• Assist in the implementation of the environmental sanitation standards
• Review ES programmes to ensure compliance to sector specific environmental sanitation standards
• Coordinate meetings and assist in secretariat duties
• Conduct mass briefings and engagement sessions
• Consolidate and analyse statistics and put up recommendation reports
• Attend to queries and feedback from external and internal stakeholders
• Conduct on-site inspection of premises to ensure adherence to standards
• Conduct interviews with premises as part of audit, where necessary
• Carry out enforcement where there are cases of non-compliance
• Assist in records management and any other duties assigned
