We are expanding! YCS is seeking for dynamic individuals to be part of the team to champion youth volunteerism in the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL). The team builds the capabilities of youth leaders to design and lead impactful community service projects, curate meaningful volunteering experiences for their peers, ignite the spark for volunteerism in more youths, and grow the national youth volunteerism movement. The team also builds the larger Youth Corps Singapore eco-system and communities of practice, connecting youth leaders to networks and resources to sustain and create multipliers for their volunteerism efforts.

 

Scope and responsibilities:

You will be able to take up various roles, and hone your skills and experience in these different areas:


• Programme Coordination - Oversee the planning of activities and events to engage the youths and expose the youth leaders to the larger youth corps eco-system.
• School Partners Engagement - Support and provide consultation to IHLs in their engagement with community partners, stakeholders, and key resources in the sector as support for their service projects.
• Community Partner Engagement - Work with community partners to provide meaningful service opportunities suitable for youth volunteers and guide youths to create impact that is sustainable in the community.
• Project Consultation - Provide consultation and support youth volunteer leaders in the design and delivery of their service project and volunteering initiatives with the community partners.
• Training Coordination - Coordinate with training partners to design, content creation for the Youth Corps Leaders Training. The candidate should also be able to suggest on the use of training theories and tools (e.g. simulations, facilitation, role-play, volunteering framework etc.) for Youth Corps training modules.
• Training Delivery - Deliver skills development workshop and conduct experiential activities for IHL youths.

Requirements

• Background in and/or passion for community service, youth development, programme coordination, training and/or partnership management
• Experience in working and managing partnership with Social Service agencies
• Experience in working and managing partnership with IHLs
• Possess excellent communication and writing skills
• Competencies and skills in facilitating and delivering training programmes
• Competencies and skills in creating interactive and effective learning activities
• Keen and available to engage and mentor youth volunteers on evenings and Saturdays
• Possess resourcefulness, self-motivation, curiosity and learning agility
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to work in cross-functioning teams
• Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment
• Relevant working experience will be advantageous: Manager (minimum 2 years)
