Assistant Manager/ Manager, National Reading Movement



Job Responsibilities

The National Reading Movement (NRM) is a 5-year campaign by the National Library Board (NLB) to encourage all to Read More, Read Widely and Read Together. The incumbent will be involved in the development of strategic directions for the campaign and to project manage and lead the development, implementation and review of integrated marketing communications plans. Job scope includes:


- Strategise, conceptualise, drive and implement the NRM Campaign plans targeting adults and seniors, as well as all age groups for the Mother Tongue Language initiatives, to meet NRM’s desired outcomes.


- Conduct research into behaviours and trends of the adults and seniors segments to determine target focus areas for a holistic Campaign strategy. Also conduct research on social media and communications trends and ensure that comparative benchmarking is done for external campaigns.


- Manage and supervise creative teams to execute and deliver communications plan and digital engagement strategies, especially for NRM’s social media channels and social media content partners. Continually innovate, identify and implement new promotion channels to publicise the NRM’s branding and NLB’s services, both online and offline.


- Evaluate, identify, develop and support sustained external partnerships to promote the NRM for wider outreach and impact of NRM messages. Actively seek social media content partnerships for collaborations via event tie-ins or other promotions.


- Provide secretariat and coordination support for the NRM initiatives, e.g. monitoring of targets, reporting writing and overseeing/executing procurement matters.


Job Requirements

- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a similar Marketing or Business Development role

- Strong command of English with good written and verbal communication skills

- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for reading and promoting reading

- Proactive and meticulous with excellent time management, project management and administrative skills


Successful applicant will be appointed on a project contract until 31 March 2022.
