You will be involved in the development of Singapore’s Literary Arts ecosystem to promote a greater appreciation of literature in the community, bridging differences and creating connections that inspire our people, and position Singapore globally.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, implement and execute the Literary Arts initiatives as part of the NAC Our SG Arts Plan.
  • Monitor the development and progress of initiatives, and evaluate their outcomes and impact.
  • Manage the development of selected sectors[1], genres[2]/language and key components[3] in the Literary Arts ecosystem.
  • Administer various grant schemes, assess grant applications, monitor and evaluate the grant application outcomes.
  • Cultivate and develop key players through several strategic platforms, events, and national platforms.
  • Monitor, review and research the relevant events or players in Singapore and the region.
  • Research, plan and organize Words Go Round, a literary arts school outreach programme.


  • At least 2-3 years of working experience preferably in areas such as and/or relating to industry development and grant management and/or administration, stakeholder engagement, content and talent development, publishing, book retail, education or similar.
  • Good knowledge of Chinese/Tamil Language/ Literature / Studies in addition to being proficient in the English Language
  • Knowledge of the Singapore literary scene will be a bonus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning ability, and comfortable working with numbers.
  • Strong administrative and project management skills.
  • Good team player who is able to foster collaborations within department, organisation and with external stakeholders.

  1. Sectors – a distinct subset of a market e.g. schools – students and teachers, youth, families etc.
  2. Genres –Fiction (novels, poetry, graphic novels etc) and Creative non-fiction (travel writing, biography etc.)
  3. key components of the LA ecosystem refers to writers, editors, translators, publishers, distributors, agents etc.
