About Outward Bound Singapore - a division of NYC

Outward Bound Singapore (OBS), is a member of Outward Bound International - a global network of Outward Bound schools operating in 34 countries.  Established in 1967, OBS is recognised for its leading experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained.  Our staff are highly qualified professionals with an affinity for the outdoors and passion for developing people.  As a national training institution, our mission is to develop mentally and physically rugged youths to be active citizens inspired to serve the community.


The Partnership Engagement (PE) unit oversees the outreach efforts to OBS stakeholders through the development and execution of engagement and communication strategies and approaches. It is the OBS Alumni and stakeholders that PE work with to convey OBS/NYC key strategic messages across multiple platforms. One of PE’s focus is in mentoring, developing and grooming OBS Alumni to amplify OBS’s mission of inspired individuals and transformed communities. The PE unit works closely with NYC Strategic Communications in reaching out to all youth who come through OBS’ doors to provide them the multiple platforms and opportunities to be empowered and developed into the next generation of youth leaders


As Senior Manager/Manager (Partnership Engagement – Communications), you will work closely with NYC’s Strategic Communications team to develop and execute 360 communication plans and activities to support key publicity and amplification efforts for Outward Bound Singapore. You will also develop and implement an effective content and marketing strategy for OBS’ social media platforms and its websites/microsites. Additionally, you will work closely with the various OBS departments and external agency partners, to develop clear, concise and consistent internal and external communications.



  • Background in communication studies, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, marketing communications, or equivalent
  • Good understanding of both mainstream and digital media, social media channels and trends, with a proven track record in managing corporate social media accounts
  • Highly motivated individual who is meticulous, resourceful and able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills with relevant experience on managing any digital asset
  • Proficient knowledge in using data analytics and content creation tools
  • Ability to use tact and professionalism, including in times of stress
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and work in cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication


Advantageous if you have:

  • Relevant working experience of min. 5 years (Senior Manager) or min. 2 years (Manager)
  • Media relations with both mainstream media and online content publishers
  • Experience in handling crisis communications
