About Outward Bound Singapore - a division of NYC

Outward Bound Singapore (OBS), is a member of Outward Bound International - a global network of Outward Bound schools operating in 34 countries.  Established in 1967, OBS is recognised for its leading experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained.  Our staff are highly qualified professionals with an affinity for the outdoors and passion for developing people.  As a national training institution, our mission is to develop mentally and physically rugged youths to be active citizens inspired to serve the community.


The Partnership Engagement (PE) unit oversees the outreach efforts to OBS stakeholders through the development and execution of engagement and communication strategies and approaches. It is the OBS Alumni and stakeholders that PE work with to convey OBS/NYC key strategic messages across multiple platforms. One of PE’s focus is in mentoring, developing and grooming OBS Alumni to amplify OBS’s mission of inspired individuals and transformed communities. The PE unit works closely with NYC Strategic Communications in reaching out to all youth who come through OBS’ doors to provide them the multiple platforms and opportunities to be empowered and developed into the next generation of youth leaders


As Manager/Assistant Manager, Partnership Engagement, you will drive engagement of OBS stakeholders through focus group discussions and adventure- / environmental-based experiential learning experiences.  You will also manage the OBS Alumni database and develop a small pool of OBS Alumni as leaders, inspired to make a difference and empowered to be active citizens. Additionally, you will also organise engagement platforms for internal staff and manage/channel enquiries / feedback / complaints to the relevant OBS departments.



  • Highly motivated individual who is meticulous, resourceful and able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Detailed and meticulous in work standards, planning and execution of projects and/or events
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with all walks of life
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, able to work in cross-functional teams
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication


Advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in facilitation
  • Background knowledge of nature and/or environment studies
  • Engaged and develop youth using outdoors as a tool
