Your role

You'll be joining a team of Projects Partners and Lawyers who are experts in either Energy or Construction & Infrastructure. As a firm, we operate a national model and as a result, you will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, as well as the opportunity to work with Partners and lawyers based in our other offices, which will really help to accelerate & progress your career.

Our Projects practice acts for many of the largest and most active entities in the Australian infrastructure and energy sectors, including government and private sector participants. We advise asset owners, developers and sponsors across the entire lifecycle of energy and infrastructure assets. We also advise:

  • government entities and electricity market regulators on the regulatory framework for the National Electricity Market;
  • energy sector clients on issues associated with the current energy market transition and associated regulatory reforms; and
  • corporate clients in connection with their decarbonisation strategies and carbon reduction commitments.

You will have access to the firm's extensive client base to explore and develop new opportunities and deliver outstanding service. You will act for a wide range of clients, each with unique and challenging work environments. We mobilise quickly, listen to client concerns and base our recommendations on what's most important to them.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience advising on a broad range of project development transactions and regulatory advisory or investigations work in the Energy sector at a well-regarded international or Australian firm, including a boutique firm.
  • We are also interested in speaking with you if you are currently working in-house at an energy company or for an Energy Regulator with a desire to return to Private Practice.
  • An ability to work independently and effectively manage smaller matters and elements of larger matters.
  • A strong team ethic, this aspect of our culture is of key importance to us.
  • A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks. 
  • An interest in building an understanding of clients and developing effective working relationships with clients.
  • A willingness to participate in business development activities, such as pitch documents, firm-wide pursuits, attending industry events and hosting seminars.
  • An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others
