About the Role

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will provide support to people with disability living in shared housing in Carlton who are looking for a support worker who is creative with daily activities and brings passion and energy to active support.

The successful candidate must have an understanding of AUSLAN and experience working with behaviours of concern.  

We are seeking applications from candidates for permanent part time positions only. To be considered, you must be able to commit to the set roster below:

  • 27.5 hours per fortnight
    • Week 1: Thu 3:30-11:00pm and Fri and Sun 9am – 3pm
    • Week 2: Fri 7am – 3pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Passionate about providing active support
  • Ability to understand AUSLAN sign language
  • Experience working with behaviours of concern
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
