About the Role
Support 4 women with disability living in a Supported Independent Living home in Arncliffe who are looking for someone with experience in providing personal care, stoma care and manual handling to provide them active day to day support.
The successful candidate will follow active support plans and participate in activities of interest to the women which will include transport to day programs, going to the movies and going shopping. In order to transport the women, the successful candidate must be confident in driving a wheelchair van.
The successful candidate must be able to commit to one of the set permanent part time rosters below:
34.5 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Tue & Wed 6-9:30am, Thu 6am – 1:30pm and Fri 6-9:30am
- Week 2: Mon, Tue & Wed 6 – 9:30am and Thu 2:30-9pm
30 hours per fortnight:
- Weel 1: Mon 6-9:30am, Tue & Wed 6-10am and Sun 2-9pm
- Week 2: Tue & Wed 6-10am and Fri 6-9:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and actively participate in person-centred active support plans
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
- Experience with personal care and stoma care
- Ability to complete regular manual handling
- Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
