Research Assistant-Lab Manager Eugene, OR
The technician will maintain and develop instrumentation for microscopy and biophysical imaging, especially of zebrafish and bacterial communities, and will work with other lab members and colleagues to design, implement, and analyze experiments. The technician will also assist with basic laboratory tasks such as inventory and organization. The position will offer the opportunity to learn cutting-edge instrumentation and quantitative analysis techniques, work at the forefront of biophysics, publish papers, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of physicists and biologists.

A research assistant will serve as a project manager for a new NIH team science project on microbiome assembly and function in zebrafish. This person will be responsible for supporting a large-scale NIH research project and laboratory operations including organizing research meetings, coordinating personnel training, ordering supplies, managing data storage and record keeping, and maintaining equipment. This person will also conduct original research, independently and in teams, involving microbiology, molecular biology, and animal studies.
