Senior Brand Strategist

Working at our iconic office in King’s Cross, London, and virtually via Microsoft Teams 

Your new role at NewDay 

As a senior member of a growing Brand and Creative department, you’ll play a vital role in leading the strategic response to a wide range of exciting brand challenges across a dynamic and high growth business. Reporting into the Principal Lead, Brand, you’ll work across NewDay’s diverse range of credit brands, including Aqua, Bip and Newpay, to develop and embed brand, positioning and experience strategies. You’ll also provide critical brand consultation to help the organisation create propositions & shape experiences across marketing, product development and channels, including our credit partner brands such as John Lewis, Argos and AO.

With deep experience in research and consumer insights, you’ll strengthen our strategic capability through laser focus on consumers motivations, trends, and the market landscape. You’ll lead and expand our brand insights programs to build a centre of excellence to shape recommendations, identify insights, and surface consumer needs throughout the organisation.

Your outstanding interpersonal skills, passion for brand strategy and insights, and ability to influence stakeholders will be key to your success. 

You’ll deliver 

  • Shaping and refreshing brand architecture, positioning, & experience strategies for NewDay’s consumer brands. 

  • Consulting on ad-hoc brand and communications opportunities from across the business, e.g. as part of the development of new product features, new customer communications or the development of customer journeys. 

  • Bridging commercial and product strategies (such as new propositions and features) and our in-house creative team, shaping the brand and messaging strategy to help craft compelling creative briefs and support creative opportunities. 

  • Leveraging external market and category trends, NewDay’s brand tracking, and customer research, creating a centre of excellence for always-on customer, category and brand insight to influence customer experience development and E2E positioning of our brands. 

  • Owning NewDay brands’ Trustpilot strategy & relationship as a key brand reputation channel, working with delivery teams to drive excellent Trustpilot scores for key NewDay brands and leveraging Trustpilot insights tools. 

What you’ll bring 

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:  

  • Developing brand value propositions, messaging frameworks, brand and communications strategies, ideally with some experience earnt as a senior strategic planner within an advertising/creative agency environment. 

  • Developing & managing strategies for a diverse range of brands across a portfolio. 

  • Identifying and developing insights, building customer profiles, delivering research programs and brand performance tracking. 

  • Presenting to, persuading & influencing diverse stakeholder groups. 

And would love you to know or learn:  

  • How to navigate a regulated or financial services environment. 

  • Industry trends, keeping an eye on market dynamics, competitors, channels and amazing strategic or creative work. 

  • How to run Trustpilot strategies, as a key driver of brand reputation. 

  • Using UserZoom as an insights tool.
