About the role
Our Public Liability team are leaders in the field and as such we are growing. We are committed to supporting people who are hurt in a public place as a result of another individual or an organisation’s negligent behaviour and guide them on how they may be covered by public liability law and be eligible to receive compensation. Now that’s a job with strong purpose!
Our Public Liability practice is seeking a Paralegal to join our team on a part-time, six month contract.
The experience we are looking for
We are looking for a third- or fourth-year law student, with a strong client service focus, personable approach, and commitment to social justice to join our Melbourne team as a Paralegal. In addition, you will have:
• An understanding of core legal principles derived from completing or having completed a law degree;
• Experience in conducting either objective or subjective discovery on large matters is essential;
• Some understanding of the governments offshore refugee policy and a general awareness of current affairs relating to asylum seekers; • Superior academic results in law;
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload whilst maintaining a high level of focus; and
• A commitment to Maurice Blackburn's beliefs and values.
