Laboratory Animal Tech I Manhattan, Kansas
The CMG mission is to provide animal husbandry and veterinary services for animals used in KSU’s research, teaching, and testing programs in accordance with (IAW) applicable laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, and university policy governing the care and use of laboratory animals at academic/research institutions. The duties of this position include performing routine daily animal husbandry for a wide variety of animal species (e.g.¸feeding, watering, cleaning stalls/pens/cages, waste disposal, sanitation/decontamination of facilities/equipment, etc.), animal handling/restraint/transport, general facility housekeeping/maintenance tasks, animal health monitoring/reporting, administering prescribed veterinary treatments (e.g., oral, topical, and/or injectable medications/drugs), assisting with anesthesia/surgical/necropsy procedures as required, and assisting with the research studies as required. This duty position is primarily allocated/assigned to the CMG’s Coles & Mosier Animal Facilities (Main), but incumbents may be temporarily detailed to perform similar tasks in other CMG supported animal facilities on the KSU Manhattan Campus as required (e.g., Large Animal Research Center (LARC), Justin Animal Facility, etc.) An employee filling this position is classified as an “ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE”.
Verification Specialist Manhattan, Kansas
The Office of Student Financial Assistance is seeking a Verification Specialist to join their team. This position will be responsible for auditing specific fields on a student’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to verify accuracy and reviews various sources of documentation approved by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to verify data submitted on FAFSA that matches certain IRS documents.
Director II, Research Manhattan, Kansas
The University Attending Veterinarian and CMG Director has the primary responsibility for providing veterinary clinical care and research support for animal research/teaching activities in KSU animal research facilities. Directs the CMG staff in working with the URCO staff on research compliance matters dealing with the Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). May be appointed by the KSU Institutional Official (IO) to serve as a voting member of the IACUC and IBC committees. Works closely with Animal Facility Manager(s) to oversee daily operations in animal care. Provides training and guidance to research personnel on animal handling, experimental animal techniques/procedures, and animal biosafety level (e.g., ABSL-1, ABSL-2, & ABSL-3) practices and procedures as required. Has direct responsibility for ensuring that all veterinary clinical standards of care, laws, regulations and guidelines related to animal care and use and biosafety/biosecurity are met.
Assistant Director, NACADA Manhattan, Kansas
NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising based at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS is seeking an Assistant Director to direct several essential and strategic programs. Student Success Technology Administrator Manhattan, Kansas
The Student Success Technology Administrator is responsible for leading the integration of technology tools to support excellence in academic advising and other student success initiatives. The person in this position will develop and coordinate a network of technology users (campaign working group, trainers, application administrators, referral network contacts, points of contact in various units, etc.). This role is designed to manage technology implementation, adoption, training, end user experience, and collect/share data insights with diverse stakeholders. Project management and collaboration skills are more important than technology skills, but the successful candidate will be conversant in how technology works and be able to translate functional area needs to vendors and technology support team members and teach end users to use technology effectively. This role demands vision and initiative, and the ability to work collaborative across functional areas at the university. The successful candidate will be able to articulate and contextualize the role of technology in our larger student success goals. This position reports to the Vice Provost for Student Success.

Southwind District Crop Production and Forage Management Extension Agent Other
The Southwind District is comprised of Allen, Bourbon, Neosho and Woodson Counties in southeast Kansas.  There are 2,314 farms and more than 112 million acres of pasture and crops growing primarily soybeans, corn, wheat and a diverse selection of native and introduced forages.  The population of the district is 46,048. The district is home to Neosho County Community College, Allen Community College, and Fort Scott Community College, as well as ten public school systems. Southwind staff are housed in four office locations and includes eight agents, four specialized office professionals and one 4-H program assistant.  Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development and implementation of research-based educational programs related to production, management and marketing issues involved in crop production, especially forages.  Programs will include but are not limited to tillage, planting, and variety selection; irrigation; weed, disease, and pest control; soil testing and fertilization; harvesting and post-harvest handling.
Wildcat District Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Extension Agent Other
The Wildcat Extension District is comprised of Crawford, Labette, Montgomery and Wilson Counties in southeast Kansas. The population of the district is about 95,000. The district staff is housed in five offices including Girard, Pittsburg, Altamont, Fredonia and Independence. There are thirteen agents, five office professionals and two program assistants. The district is the home of Pittsburg State University, Coffeyville Community College, Independence Community College and Labette Community College. There are 27 incorporated cities with Pittsburg, Parsons, Independence and Coffeyville having the largest populations. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based nutrition educational programming to support successful families and the systems that serve them in the district. Programming will include, but is not limited to: food preparation, nutrition, food safety, food resource management, household food security, and physical activity.  Major efforts will target limited-resource families and individuals.
Fellow (Post Doc) Manhattan, Kansas
The KSU Sorghum Molecular Breeding program is seeking a Fellow (Post Doc) to conduct genetics and genomics research activities. The Fellow will be primarily responsible for identifying loci of interest via phenotype-genotype associations, population genomic analysis of loci and polymorphisms, and molecular marker validations. In addition, the Fellow will coordinate and manage manuscript writing, and will be involved in plant phenotyping of traits of interest.

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for an Assistant Scientist to assist in the operation of the Kansas River Valley Experiment Field near Topeka. This individual would work closely with the agronomist-in-charge stationed at the Kansas River Valley Experiment Field, and the agricultural technician, temporary/part-time employees, researchers and graduated students from KSU in conduction field research related primarily to irrigated corn, soybean, and wheat production.
Fellow (Post Doc) Manhattan, Kansas
The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) to work on field research activities related to international soil and cropping systems research with emphasis on soil fertility recommendations in West Africa. This position will contribute to the vision and activities of Sustainable Opportunities for Improving Livelihoods with Soils (SOILS) consortium of the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL). Research design and coordination efforts will be primarily focused on soil fertility management, cropping systems, crop diversification, integrated nutrient management, and using soil-crop simulation models to quantify impact of management practices, changing environments on crop productivity, greenhouse gas emissions, carbon-foot print and resilience. International travel and extended stay in host country is expected.

The Kansas State University Department of Grain Science and Industry is seeking applicants for a Post-doc in the area of structure, modifications, and properties of starches. Candidates must have prior research experience and knowledge of starch or other polymers. Candidates should be familiar with polymer characterization techniques. It is necessary and expected for the candidate in this position to perform modifications of starch in the laboratory, determine the chemical and physical structure of starches and their functional and nutritional properties. Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of research publications in refereed journals. The successful candidate is expected to write reports and manuscripts for publication, and give presentations to industrial companies and at scientific conferences. The candidate must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment. This is a full time, term position for 12 months with continuation of this position contingent on the continued funding, satisfactory progress and the need for the services.
Research Assistant (Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory) Manhattan, Kansas
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant. The incumbent in this position has the responsibility of performing laboratory experiments using Illumina and Nanpore next generation sequencing platforms. In addition, the incumbent will run bioinformatics pipelines to be used in combination with NGS results. To achieve the objectives, job responsibilities include; handling and processing various animal specimens, nucleic acid extraction of both RNA and DNA using different nucleic acid extraction methods, real-time PCR detection of a variety of animal pathogens, conducting scientific literature searches, compiling laboratory procedures for publication, presenting scientific data when appropriate and ensure quality control standards are met on laboratory assays.
