About This Role:
|
As a communications and marketing manager, you will provide strategic communications, marketing and brand management leadership for the College of Agriculture, the Agricultural Experiment Station, and the Cooperative Extension Service. You will develop strategic, integrated marketing plans that support college priorities and business objectives and strengthen the college’s academic brand. You also will serve as communications counsel to senior leadership in the College. Your work will contribute to economic development efforts, public and private support advocacy, student recruitment campaigns, and college legislative communication.
- Provides strategic communications, marketing, and brand management leadership for the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University.
- Leads cross-functional teams in the strategic implementation of the College of Agriculture’s marketing/communications tactics that support the goals of the college and K-State Research and Extension (KSRE). Leads the development of the College of Agriculture and KSRE's major communication tools.
- Serves as a marketing team lead, meets with team members, reviews projects, and gives support and direction. Provides collaborative efforts for the KSRE marketing communications planning and execution. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities for marketing team staff.
- Responsible for managing special marketing/communication projects that support the College and KSRE missions and goals.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three to five years of relevant experience.
- This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a communication and/or marketing-related field.
- Three to five years of strategic communication and team leadership experience in an agency, professional communications environment, university communications, or a combination of these.
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring organizational brand(s) and ensuring brand consistency.
- Experience with multi-platform communications including video, audio, photography, and desktop publishing using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with social media tools, web design, blogging platforms, data reporting tools, keyword searching and SEO.
- Knowledge of current agricultural practices and the land-grant mission.

$52,530 - $68,500
