Administrator’s Assistant

About This Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Administrator's Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position serves as the administrative assistant to the Administrator of the VHC. All activities must be performed independent of supervision. Duties include organization of the Administrator’s daily calendar and travel itinerary, coordinating daily activities and meetings for the VHC, serving as a resource person for inquiries on VHC and University policies, managing and maintaining various databases including reporting and analysis of data. This position is an initial contact person for inquiries from the public, University Administrators, faculty, staff, and professional/graduate students. This individual works in a business and medical environment where sensitive issues must be maintained. Working hours for this position will include Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Worksite Description

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Education and/or experience in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of administration; including organization, time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of diverse human behavior in organizations and appropriate management techniques that foster teamwork, creativity and problem solving.
  • Understanding of basic onboarding and recruitment practices.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and cohesion of a work team.
