Veterinary Experimental Pathologist

About This Role

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/dmp/), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE), collaborative Veterinary Experimental Pathologist to support CEEZAD (https://ceezad.org/) and CEZID (https://www.k-state.edu/cezid/) experimental work in high containment. This is a non-tenure track position. Requirements for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree and ideally ACVP board certification. Applicants with graduate training (MS or PhD degree) will be given preference.
Descriptions of the position is as follows: The responsibility of this position is 50% pathology and 50% research service. Research duties include design, execution, and pathology support for animal experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 biocontainment. In addition, support for molecular diagnostic (PCR, RT-PCR, dPCR) is required. Research duties will primarily support research projects in two national Centers of Excellence, the Center of Excellence for Emerging Zoonotic Animal Diseases (http://www.ceezad.org) and the Center on Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (https://www.k-state.edu/cezid),
