Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Program Assistant for the Health and Human Performance Department.  This role will assist the Department Head as well as support the other faculty/staff of the HHP department.  In addition to having a supportive role, this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Assists with the scheduling of Fall, Spring, and Summer course offerings as well as coordinates instructors based on availability, reserving space, updating schedule and room assignments as needed throughout the year.
  • Oversees departmental budgets and account balances; to include reconciling monthly purchasing card statements, purchase supplies for classroom and lab activities.
  • Responsible for purchasing supplies for the department and faculty research.
  • Process reimbursements for HHP affiliated clubs; direct pay/ EPAFS, Payment reqs. /wire transfers, and student reimbursements for HHP affiliated study abroad programs.
  • Assists students in travel arrangements; including submitting special orders, meal money, reimbursements, etc. 
  • Coordinate with Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Sport Management program leaders to produce a yearly report about the success of our graduates and help build a database to track alumni.
  • Assist department Head and faculty with updates and revisions to the HHP department policy and procedures manual.
  • Assist Department Head with tasks related to special events that occur throughout the year such as student, faculty, and staff awards, CASM banquet, accepted students’ events, etc.
  • As needed occasionally proctoring exams, preparing documents, and materials.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree with previous work related experience as an administrative assistant or program assistant. Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals. Knowledge of principles, policies and practices of office management. Effective communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master’s degree.
