Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Sales Associate for the Tailor Shop.  This role reports directly to the Seamstress Supervisor and is responsible for the following duties:

• Serves as the primary customer service representative serving cadets, faculty, and staff, and the public.
• Answers and responds to customer requests.
• Uses a point-of-sale system to process transactions and cash, credit card and OneCard payments; accounts for cash receipts and prepares daily deposits.
• Maintains and balances monthly spreadsheet for Cadet Taxable/Non- Taxable/Credit Card/Cash payments and sends appropriate report to Finance after verification of totals in Banner.
• Receives, tracks, and process cadet uniforms and civilian garments.
• Prepares alteration tickets; assists seamstresses in preparation of uniforms and garments for alterations; to includes uniform inspection for serviceability.
• Assists in ordering inventory and supplies.
• Assists in maintaining an attractive, clean and safe storefront.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma and /or related experience. Ability to use a computer and basic office equipment. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook programs. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills. Must be able to stand, squat, lift up to 20 pounds, and pull 30-50-pound rolling racks. Occasional weekend work required to support the Corps of Cadets.

Preferred Qualifications:

Customer service and cashier experience preferred.
