Instructor for Transition Age Youth with Disabilities Anchorage
This position will serve as faculty/instructor for the TAPESTRY Program at UAA, a postsecondary transition program designed to build career, life, social, and academic skills for young adults ages 16-22 years of age who experience cognitive and intellectual disabilities as defined in the Higher Education Opportunity Act enacted in 2008. This project will build on UAA's existing infrastructure and resources to create opportunities for academic enrichment, extracurricular activities, work experiences and career skills that lead to gainful employment for these young adults. CHD is a University Center for Excellence in Disabilities established in federal law to provide interdisciplinary education, community/public service, research, and information dissemination.
