The Instruction and Research Services Department is hiring student assistants to provide information services and technology assistance at our Information and Research Help Desk. Student assistants will assist library patrons with directions to areas of the library and campus, information about library and university services, basic questions about library resources, and will assist with technology on the library computers and in the adjacent computer lab. These positions provide the opportunity to strengthen and expand resume building skills such as customer service skills, IT technical skills, and information research skills. Resource Conservation Recovery Act Specialist

The UAF Environmental Support Services unit will provide developmental planning and environmental services to Fort Wainwright in accordance with the recently signed Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA). One of the required services in accordance with the agreement is a dedicated full-time professional to conduct Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste (HW) program support operations and to ensure all required activities and sources are properly permitted and in compliance with applicable regulations.The RCRA Specialist will be the subject matter expert for the team and provide knowledge in areas of Resource Conservation Recovery Act Hazardous Waste support services. This person will assist in the development of plans and tasks to ensure compliance in support of Ft. Wainwright and support field workers needed. |

The University of Alaska Fire Department is seeking an energetic, progressive, and highly motivated Fire Captain to join our team of career fire officers in mentoring student firefighters. Under the Fire Captains' tutelage, student employees, provide fire and emergency medical services to 24,000 people on and off campus, answering 2,000 emergency calls per year. The Fire Captain fulfills a vital role in the safety, education, work experience, and on-the-job training of our student firefighters, in addition to day-to-day fire department activities and operations.
