The EMPOWERR program under the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a professional full-time Health Educator to be responsible for implementing evidence-based HIV and substance use prevention curricula to minority teens and young adults in the Charleston area as well facilitating linking youth and adults to HIV testing and substance use treatment. The ideal applicant will be highly energetic and dedicated to working with minority youth and emerging adults. He/she will also be exceptionally organized, detail oriented, and can work independently. Previous training in working with youth and evidence-based HIV prevention programs (e.g., SIHLE and Making Proud Choices) is strongly preferred. Expertise in social media strategies is preferred. Responsibilities will include facilitating in-person evidence based HIV and substance abuse prevention programs; finding, creating, and posting relevant social media content on the program’s various social media platforms; screening individuals for substance use issues; assisting with linking individuals to HIV testing and/or substance use prevention treatment; participating in substance abuse and HIV prevention efforts via community forums and events (e.g. speaking engagements, health fairs, testing events); assisting in data collection and entry; and assisting in organization of service locations, dates, times, and overseeing volunteers. The incumbent serves as the Coordinator for Medical Student Education in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He/she is primarily responsible for the Medical Student Clerkship and other clinically rotating students onto psychiatry services. The Hollings Cancer Center’s (HCC) Research Events & Program Coordinator, is responsible for providing administrative support for the Center’s research programs, shared resources, events, and program-related meetings. The Research Events & Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Grants Administration and Center Programs. This position works a hybrid schedule, 2 days per week remote with 3 days per week in office. The Hollings Research Events & Program Coordinator works closely with program leaders to coordinate lectureships, program meetings, retreats, guest speakers, and other research-focused interactions. The position serves as lead for the HCC Seminar Series, an annual spring research symposium, the HCC Research and Training Symposium, and the annual fall center-wide research retreat. The position also assists with all program and thematic research retreats, coordinates the monthly Executive Council, Program Leaders, Research Committee meetings, and the bi-monthly meetings of the HCC Education and Training Council. UNIV - Research Nurse Manager - Cancer Moonshot - Hollings Cancer Center Charleston, SC-Downtown
The Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Research Nurse Manager is responsible for the provision of nursing education and mentorship to the non-nursing staff HCC Clinical Trials Office (CTO) and serves as a liaison to other clinical services and providers within HCC outpatient and inpatient clinics, the HCC infusion center and other ancillary departments. This individual will participate in the feasibility review process by reviewing protocols and determining the study patient flow and provision of center resources to promote protocol compliance and study participant retention. When complex trials are identified that require additional nursing resources, this individual will be assigned to the study and provide study specific nursing services such as observation, neurocognitive assessments, etc. Additionally, the nurse manager will collaborate closely with other clinical operation managers, EPIC and Beacon build managers to ensure that study treatment plans are built in accordance to the protocol for newly activated and amended therapeutic protocols. This position will be part of the CTO quality assurance and education unit and will report to the Assistant Director of Clinical Activities. The Nurse Manager II will have a key role in helping train and mentor new study coordinators and data managers in understanding oncology terminology and concepts. This individual must be knowledgeable of Food and Drug Administration federal regulations, local regulatory agency policies, and international Good Clinical Practice Guidelines to ensure that the conduct of clinical research activities remain in good standing and research performance excels in quality and efficiency. Must work collaboratively with CTO managers and ancillary services in program development and strategic planning. Responsible for the establishment of clinical operation standard operating procedures and proper training and quality assurance initiatives
