A laboratory in the Department of Neuroscience focused on understanding mechanisms associated with drug addiction is recruiting a technician to provide support in their ongoing studies. The research technician (full-time) will be hired to work on a NIH funded project to study the mechanisms associated with drug addiction, mainly focusing on assisting the laboratory with surgical procedures required for rodent studies. The Studies encompass behavioral research including heroin or cocaine self-administration. The position will involve performing intravenous jugular catheterization and intracranial surgical procedures. The technician will also be required to handle rodents, perform brain perfusions, and immune-staining. Experience with rodent handling, injections and behavioral testing is required. Experience performing surgeries, specifically jugular catheterization is highly suggested.
UNIV - Research Program Coordinator II - Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine Charleston, SC

This is a central research administration position, reporting to the Research Opportunities & Collaborations Associate Director in the Office for Clinical Research (OCR) under the Office for the Vice President for Research (OVPR). This position is responsible for supporting the Office of Clinical Research Industry Sponsor Invoicing, billing, and reconciliation program. In collaboration with department/division Grants Administrators, Principal Investigators and study teams, Research Administration and Grants and Contracts Accounting Offices, this position will coordinate industry sponsored study invoicing, billing and reconciliation activities to ensure that all earned revenue is realized under this OCR fee for service program and provide training, mentorship and guidance for sponsor invoicing within MUSC’s Clinical Trial Management System. Services will include supporting post-award industry sponsored research activity tracking, invoicing, billing reconciliation, reporting, and communication processes within SPARCRequest and the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS). ). This is a fully remote position with a laptop, monitor, keyboard and mouse provided. Candidate must provide phone and internet access.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Human Services Coordinator II to assist the Division of Mental Health Disparities and Diversity provide evidence-based trauma-focused mental health services for children and adolescents and their families. The position includes both trauma and traumatic grief counseling via telehealth. The primary population of focus is traditionally underserved populations (e.g African American, Hispanic, rural, economically disadvantaged). The candidate will assist in the planning and implementation of community trainings and events related to child trauma victims in coordination with local victim advocacy agencies. Experience providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) preferred. Candidates with fluency in Spanish a plus!

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Program Assistant/Phlebotomist to perform duties in the Addiction Sciences Division. The candidate will work as a Program Assistant that will lead the phlebotomy and biospecimen collection and organization on the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study, a large-scale project to study child and adolescent health, behavior, and brain functioning. The person will oversee the collection, processing, and organization of all biospecimens collected. They will also lead the team in phlebotomy training and blood processing. The candidate will also assist with testing and scanning participants using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and use behavioral/cognitive/computerized testing. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

We are seeking a candidate with knowledge of expression microarrays (ChIP and RNA-seq) who will assist our ongoing research directed toward understanding mechanisms of fibrosis. The candidate will perform supervised work on several projects using human samples, cultured cells, and animal models of pulmonary fibrosis. General duties will include breeding, weaning and genotyping multiple lines of genetically altered mice, assisting in collection, processing and cataloging tissue samples from mice, performing various biologic analyses (gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry, qRT-PCR, etc.), and participating in laboratory discussions, organization and regulatory procedures.
