The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a highly organized and collaborative communicator to join the enterprise Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM). This will include psychosocial assessment, review of active treatment and previous discharge planning, case management, and related documentation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary forensic/and or treatment team. The primary role for this position is providing services on a wide variety of court ordered forensic evaluations. The responsibilities for the position include obtaining psychosocial information, review and summarizing all pertinent legal and medical records, and shared report writing. The SW also serves as a second examiner on court ordered evaluations under the supervision of the forensic physician or forensic psychologist. SW may also conduct interviews and psychological testing needed to complete the forensic case evaluation by the forensic expert on the case. Good writing skills are required.

Candidate will preferably have Master's Degree in Child Life and experience with pediatric patients hospitalized with chronic and surgical diagnoses. Child Life Certification is required. The Child Life (CL) Specialist works to address the psychosocial, emotional, and family concerns that accompany the illness and injury of children, adolescents, and young adults. The CL Specialist will utilize developmentally appropriate information, therapeutic play interventions, procedure support, emotional processing and coping strategies to improve the patients and families experience. The CL Specialist collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to advocate for/ensure that developmentally appropriate, emotionally safe, family-centered care is being provided to patients and families. In addition, the CL Specialist takes an active role in developing and maintaining resources and projects for their assigned area. Will work as part of the Child Life team to plan and facilitate special events, donations and other departmental projects.
