10Plans & conducts specialized programs to support the Library Program. Arranges/coordinates teleconferences and webinars to support Library staff professional development. Prepares local arrangements for vendors, consultants, meetings, (local, statewide, regional).Essential
20Provide administrative and logistical support to the Director of Libraries, search committee chairs, and the Libraries’ Personnel Administrator. Coordinates organization and determines importance of departmental & faculty files for committees, reports, grants, publications, presentations, etc. Prepares & maintains special or confidential records & reports. Screen and organize incoming printed correspondence to the Director of Libraries. Format, prepare for mailing, and mail printed correspondence from the Director of Libraries and on occasion other administrative correspondence as directed by the Director of Libraries. As requested by Director of Libraries, occasionally arrange for refreshments and catering for meetings with inside and outside constituencies. Assists the Director of Libraries with the Library Faculty annual assessment and evaluation process. Manages the contract renewal process for Library faculty. Assists search committee chairs with candidate communications and candidate interview and travel arrangements, ensure verification of credentials is completed, prepare interview packet for candidates, assist chairs with the search process checklist and supporting documents. Work closely with the Libraries’ Personnel Administrator to ensure hiring procedures are completed for the successful faculty recruitments.Essential
30Provides administrative support for the Chair, Academic Affairs Faculty Group. Oversees and coordinates faculty matters for the Academic Affairs Faculty. Assures currency of faculty information & files. Updates Academic Affairs Faculty webpage and contact information.Essential
35Establishes & maintains positive relationship with, and is the Director of Libraries liaison to, university administration, other university departments, university faculty, & external state agencies, consortia, boards & national institutions. Manages the day-to-day work agenda for the Director of Libraries. Manages the Director's calendar and deadlines; Coordinates, & schedules appointments, committee meetings, locates and reserves meeting spaces (state level, university wide, & internal). Carry out calendar scheduling and travel coordination promptly, adhering to scheduling constraints and schedules from the Director of Libraries at the time of the request. Exercise professional judgment in making appointments, consult with Director of Libraries as required, and assign appropriate priorities to appointment requests. Assembles information for review & briefs for the Director of Libraries prior to meetings. Coordinates travel arrangements (university, state, regional & national) for the Director of Libraries. Serves as compliance officer for Library Program. Review, prioritize, and expedite daily issues requiring senior administration review and response.Essential

Job summary: Under the general supervision of the Library Director, the Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support for the Director of Libraries ; the administrative office of the Director of Libraries; and the Chair, Academic Affairs Faculty Group. Represent the public and professional presence of the Director of Libraries and the administrative office of the MUSC Libraries to the University community. Coordinates Academic Affairs Faculty matters and is liaison to a number of University offices, in particular University Administration. Develops, interprets, & applies operational policies. Plans, coordinates, and performs management support services for the library program. Provides administrative support at university level committee meetings, coordinates local arrangements for vendors, consultants, candidates for recruitment, & meetings; interacts with all levels of state agencies, University, College, & Medical Center Administration, faculty, students & public.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 5: $32,838.00 - $46,799.00 - $60,760.00 (min - mid - max)

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration or Administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and two years experience in business management, public administration or Administrative services.
 
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:  Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience.
