Job Summary/Purpose: As a member of the pharmacy management team, the Ambulatory Pharmacy Services Director is responsible for ensuring that pharmacy services are provided in a safe and efficient manner resulting in positive outcomes for patients. This role champions inter-functional collaboration and communication across work areas and departments. With other department leadership, this position implements the strategic initiatives authorized by the Administrator of Pharmacy Services ICCE. The Director has oversite over all of the human, financial, and informational resources allotted to the designated pharmacy cost centers.  This role is required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.    

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience with drug study coordinators and drug study designs and experience with 503a or 504b compounding operations, rules and regulations

Minimum Training and Education: Doctoral degree or master’s degree in Pharmacy, residency training and at least five years of demonstrated managerial experience. Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the age and level of development of patients with consideration of the needs of the patients’ families. Demonstrates knowledge and enforcement activities for the MUSC Hospital Compliance Program. Demonstrates knowledge of ADA regulations.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy and licensed at the time of hire as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire and must be maintained, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
