New Graduate Blitz:

MUSC Health is hosting a New Graduate Interview Blitz for all Spring 2022 new graduates seeking future employment and participation in our Nurse Residency Program.  All interested candidates, must complete this online application and attach a resume no later than Monday, February 14, 2022.  Please also attach your current BLS if you have one.  

If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by a department representative to schedule a Microsoft Teams or phone Interview between Thursday, February 24, 2022 - Saturday, February 26, 2022.  Please be prepared for a half-hour behavioral-based interview with Nurse Managers, unit leaders, and peer team between those dates.  We have various service areas participating in this Hiring Event, the area of participation will vary based on location. Keep in mind, our high-volume areas of interest are critical care and Children's & Women's Services.   

We anticipate extending conditional offers to successful candidates starting Monday, February 28, 2022.  Successful candidates must provide confirmation of acceptance within 2 business days of conditional offer.  All selected candidates will automatically be enrolled in our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.  Anticipated start dates will be determined once a conditional offer is accepted.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Minimum Training and Education:  Associates or Bachelor of Nursing degree required. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing, are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on the carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
