Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Coordinator of Clinical Education and Simulation (CCES) of the Division of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) include providing leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PAS clinical education program. The Coordinator of Clinical Education and Simulation (CCES) works with the PAS Program Director, Medical Director, Academic Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator for Operations, and Clinical Coordinator to ensure that all ARC-PA standards are fully met while providing the best educational opportunities available to our students.

 

Job Duties: 

  • 100% - 1. Provides operational oversight for the evaluation of students during the clinical year; 2. Plans and coordinates end of rotation activities; 3. Organizes simulation activities for the didactic and clinical students; 4. Evaluates student performance of simulation activities; 5. Serves as instructor in the PAS program in areas of clinical and/or professional expertise; 6. Serves as an academic advisor; 7. Serves on PAS program and College committees; 8. Serves as the chair of the Clinical Curriculum Committee; 9. Participates in the accreditation process; 10. Serves as a member of the Clinical Education Team; 11. Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Division Director, Chair, or Dean of the College of Health Professions. - (Essential)

 

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills:

• Doctoral degree appropriate to research, clinical, or educational experience
• Physician or NCCPA-certified physician assistant
• Higher education teaching experience in related field
• Experience with patient simulation and/or medical education simulation
• Experience in inter-professional practice or education
• Leadership in professional organizations

 

• Master’s or doctoral degree in a related discipline;
• 2 years clinical practice experience;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills;
• Certification in area of professional expertise;
• Eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina;
• Strong commitment to achieve the missions of the PAS Division, the College of Health Professions, and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
