Job Summary/Purpose: The Information Security Architect has responsibility for the design, build and implementation of enterprise-class information security systems and policies.  The Information Security Architect will work with limited supervision across Information Solution domains and stakeholders (health, academic and research custodians) to design information security solutions that provide value for MUSC.  This role reports to an Information Security Director with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Enterprise Architect as part of a virtual architecture team.  Helps set the security strategy for MUSC and develops standards, roadmaps, solution paths and designs, and communication of emerging threats that help the organization achieve those strategies.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) or related field required, Master’s Degree in a technical discipline preferred. 10+ years of related experience (security architecture, security engineering, security technology support or other related consulting expertise) required. At least one industry certification from an organization such as ISC(2), ISACA, GIAC, etc. required. Additional Information Technology certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, and PMP highly desirable.
