Job Summary/Purpose: The Director of Critical Care Services is responsible for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), the Cardiavascular Intensive Care Unit / Coronary Care Unit (CVICCU), the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), and the Central Telemetry Unit (TELE). The Critical Care DIrector is responsible for the staffing and skill level of the ICU Nurses, including the Rapid Response Program.The Department Director is responsible for the oversight of one or more asigned departments or units. Responsible for the patient care provided in their assigned areas. Is also responsible for resource management, including but not limited to human resources, materials and financial resources. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including enforcement of corporate and facility policies as well as the develoment and enforcement of department specific policies. Responsible for customer, employee and physician satisfaction initiatives.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's Degree or in process of achieving degree. Masters degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience in area of responsibility. 1 to 3 years leadership experience preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current RN license to practice in South Carolina. Certification in area of responsibility preferred. Current BLS and ACLS Required.

(Infrequent) Ability to lift /lower objects 50 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead up to 25 lbs. (Frequent) Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 50 lbs. (Infrequent) Ability to push and pull wheeled carts/trucks that weigh up to and in excess of 200lbs to various locations in the hospital. (Frequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Continuous) Ability to work indoors. (Continuous) Ability to work outdoors under all weather and temperature conditions. (Infrequent) Must possess good olfactory senses. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined close quarters. (Frequent) Ability to fully use both legs. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined cramped quarters.
